I dunno that just sounds like not wanting to bother. In cases wehre someone asks and you go "it depends" cuz u cba explaining a ton of examples/counter examples that's fine, but when u proactively join ongoing internet "convos" with "it depends" it starts feeling actively detrimental

Saying "it's all contextual/it depends" about game design is opting out of having conversations out of laziness (arrogance?), rather than improving The Discourse in any way. If a rule breaks down when applied to specific contexts, those contexts should be presented & explored.

yeah, I would probably go with SDL just for the audio/controller API, maybe also for GPU access if I wanna 3D just because setting up vulkan is annoying. I am a programmer so im not out of my depth, but I forced myself to use godot because I wanted to focus on the game part for once :)
