I don't see that many AI ads but when I do it's the most anti-social, self-involved messaging imaginable. One where a mom rolls her eyes at her children for remembering her husband's birthday when she didn't. Another of a white guy doing nothing at his job but letting ChatGPT write his e-mails.

It feels like two things going on. 1) The companies signing off on the ads lack the self-awareness to see how unlikable the characters in their ads are, and 2) the best use case for genAI they can conceive of is as cover for a person's mediocrity.
