That's a landmark dataset. The mechanical side deserves credit too: an EV drivetrain has roughly 20 moving parts against a couple hundred in a combustion car, so less wears out. Add batteries degrading only about 1 to 2 percent a year, and the longevity starts making sense.

It's a leasing thing: EVs going into company car fleets because of low tax rates for salary sacrifice. So they are driven by commuters rather than people leaving their car at home and getting the train.
