A5 #TeacherEd #SafeSchools I spread kindness by really listening to my students and giving them my time. I also make sure that if I am reprimanding a student, I always pull them aside and don't let other students hear. I stay calm no matter what a student may be saying to me or doing.

Q4: it works with my curriculum, frankly. We read literature like Born a Crime, and relate what he goes through to our lives. Teach empathy. Put yourself in another’s shoes. I like thought experiments like these and assign prompts requiring such reflection. #teachered #safeschools

A4: Students need to be taught empathy. This is hard, due to their age. One suggestion is to devote community service time (required in some districts) to serve a community other than their own. That way, they learn to live in another person’s shoes, albeit a short time. #TeacherEd #SafeSchools
