I'm going to celebrate Vancouver's municipal election results, no matter all the utter feckery that is around. A Green mayor! A (nearly all) great bunch of people elected. Alas that one ABC fella remains, but I do hope he is utterly miserable.

Part of why I am optimistic, is that: 1) Reducing this racist abuse has an *immediate* positive effect on keeping innocent people alive and out of jail 2) It has an immediate effect on reducing crime 3) Most cops *don't want to be* racist glorified meter-maids, ruining Black lives for no reason

Most people are wrong about crime in the US, because they still don't realize who most violent crime happens *to*. They don't realize that Black men and boys are the primary *recipients* of crime, not *perpetrators* of crime. Police abuse decreases the victim population's likelihood of reporting.
