Before your public dialogue (for which I’m grateful) resumes: congressional Republicans & the Supreme Court have ceded power to Trump who has abused his power. The public needs to know now the significance of Dems’ retaking at least the House. Surely, the NYT can explain that without taking sides.

Thanks, Peter. I'm not trying to be confrontational. I'm actually a longtime fan. I just think too many people are sleepwalking into a dictatorship. The president is calling Somali Americans "garbage." The press is under assault. Students of history can see the pattern. I want everyone to see it.
