This is awful, but I do have to wonder about a lot of the comments saying how bad it is that he's admitting it, like... ...what outcome do we want, here? I'm not sure we should be encouraging people to lie about abuse because admitting to it looks worse.

because of its much smaller userbase its a very "everyone knows everyone else" sort of deal so theres a big incentive on building a good reputation so more people are willing to talk, so to get meaningful interactions out of people you gotta talk and ask questions
