Around three years ago I received a YouTube ad expositing the benefits of an AI-powered homework-and-essay-writing service with the (paraphrased) tagline: “The teacher never has to know.” Cheaters pre-date AI, but it’s telling these companies no longer pretend this is a misuse of their product.
