I grew up in a house, and I have auditory sensory issues, so after 20 years in apartments I was SO DONE WITH IT and desperately wanted my own walls, not attached to anyone else. I wanted it badly enough to leave a rent-stabilized apartment in a great neighborhood of NYC.
