Any thoughts about how to subspecifically identify Snow Bunting? These two birds together from Fair Isle today seem perhaps to be a brown-mantled insulae (Iceland) & a greyer-mantled nivalis (Greenland, Scandinavia etc). Mixed origin Redpoll groups occur here as well of course. Thoughts welcome!
