I agree, it sounds like your cooling fan is loose or it is hitting something loose near it, especially if it's not making a constant sound.

That sounds like a cooling fan hitting something, the fact that it’s not a consistent steady tick. I would take the side of the case off and see if you can see what might be near the fan blades.

I'd guess either something got loose and is hitting a fan blade or the fan casing itself got a little loose. I'd start there

Anyone who knows their way around PC hardware, erm... help? My PC's started developing this noise. I first heard it a couple weeks ago but it was a freak very infrequent thing. It's now doing it once every couple of minutes, sometimes for long periods of time and sometimes quite loudly
