Show PostWhoo, rough read. Well-written, but a bit much. Multi-POV story of Shuggie's mom, Agnes, who is an alcoholic, husband/father abusive, in poverty-level Glasgow in the 80s. Shuggie is very young, happens to be gay, tries not to be. Mostly about the mom. Gritty, codependency, rapes aplenty.
