i also just see this argument as an extension of that western/colonial mindset of “the only Art that is worthy of Soul is Art done in this style/convention” while ignoring and/or putting down things like “outsider art” which is a stupid term anyway

to me, that “souls” argument can slip very quickly into “only people with my tastes/preferences can make actual Art and not degeneracy”

eye dee kay i just think its weird that some peoples’ main argument against genAI is that “only Humans with Souls can make Art” and not “this is a huge labor rights and environmental blight”
