🎉 Congratulations to our postdoc Tomas Pachano (Stark lab) on joining the FWF’s ESPRIT programme! With support from the FWF, Pachano will study how pathogens manipulate human cells and aims to build the first pan-pathogen functional atlas of effector activity: https://bit.ly/4jxyKbB
Show PostAmazing work. Direct imaging evidence that DNA sequence and TFBS number and composition at enhancers are responsible for non-uniform nuclear TF concentrations, sth I've suspected for a while(tinyurl.com/TFhubs)! Highlights the importance of TF cooperativity! Time to study this in more detail :)
Show Post8/ More broadly, our results suggest that not every bright nuclear cluster needs to be explained by a new higher-order structure or condensate. In many cases (stay tuned for more), protein-chromatin interactions, viewed through the microscope, are enough to create the appearance of a persistent hub.
Show PostAfter excising an intron, the spliceosome gets trapped on the branched intron-lariat RNA. How are such dead-end spliceosomes terminated? Our latest paper led by @vytaute.bsky.social investigates the mechanism of spliceosome termination www.nature.com/articles/s41... (1/6)
