HS teacher here. Out of the typical class load of 140 students or so I always have a collection of kids with ADHD. Especially when I have freshman classes. The difference is palpable when they go off their meds. As sometimes happens when mom runs out of money or doesn't renew the prescription.

I currently teach in a low SES school with lots of immigrants so affording meds can be an issue. It isn't just classroom behavior or misbehavior. They do markedly better on classwork as well. Kids actually do better in school and learn more when they aren't distraction to themselves.
