Once upon a time, early in my time joining @edzitron.com as bartender at CES, an email was circulated at a large PR firm with the subject line “BEWARE: Ed Zitron”. It was getting embarrassing how many senior account managers fell victim to updog. I assume a similar message now circulates at OpenAI.

The attempt to spin Ed as immature and not taking the Very Serious Business of PR seriously was a very feeble effort to cover how deeply incompetent/illiterate those account managers pulling LARGE fees were behaving. More got the joke than those who didn’t, but it was a quite revealing.
