Something with a lot of small holes around 1/8-1/4" diameter; we used a colander because we weren't flying, but maybe there's something similar that's flat and packable? It's so cool to see a bunch of tiny partial-eclipse-shaped shadows.

I’ve only consumed a couple of pieces of artistic retrospectives on Metro Surge - in both cases becuase my flight tracking work was included. I had been dreading this, as I was scared it was going to rip open some scabs, but it hit me as a thoughtful reminder of the time, and not a bayonet to guts.
