Geek, Football Fan (Hull City and England), AuDHD Liberal politics. Despise right wing populism but also worried about the rise of left wing populism. Not against genuine well thought out views that I disagree with. Also, we named the dog Indiana!

IR35 was a gift to the offshore outsourcers. It decimated the local UK contractor industry, and made it much easier for offshore competition to enter the gap. Tax was lost, not gained.
Show PostThe UKs SME contracting industry was a high-tech flexible workforce success story. Providing quality jobs and paying lots of UK tax. The tories (Sunak) killed that golden goose with their IR35 reforms. Just so the offshores could hoover up the market.
Show PostMany options: Scrap IR35, that drove people into loan charge schemes in the first place. IR35 costs more than it raises. Go back to pre-2000 setup, and watch our economy soar. Or tax dividends as income, instead of pretending they're something else. Or merge NI and PAYE, problem resolves itself.
Show PostFor all the contractors on here. This is a really good opportunity to make sure your experiences are heard. You have until the 9th September, so don't delay! www.reddit.com/r/Contractor... #contractors #contracting #ir35
Show PostMuch better to just merge employee NI into income tax for all.
