Just to say the Virtual Game Cards update on Switch is literally Nintendo giving you a bit more rights. This update is an OFFLINE ACCESS MANAGEMENT for 2 systems. It used to be just 1.

You can literally now choose to play with online rights or not. You can lend games to family, which unfortunately has a lot of limitations, like, it's definitely not perfect by any means, and we should still go for more consumer protection. But they're the only ones who bothered even just a bit.
