You can absolutely have disclosure about your crime and have actual punishment and restorative justice without implicating or naming the victim. The fact is he DID do the crime, and chose to not disclose it.
Show PostSo here's the thing. America is a very weird country where simultaneously all court details are very publicly broadcast but not all criminal offenses need to go to court. In much of the world these crimes are required to go to court, even if a victim did not choose to press charges.
Show PostThis “version of you” is you. You raped a woman, hid it from your coworkers and collaborators, and damaged dozens of reputations beyond your own. You had to reasonably know your deception would come to light one day, and chose not to reveal it on your own. Nothing ever stops existing, Jacob.
Show PostNah. The point isn't owing people besides the victims over what he did. The point is creating a paper trail of earnest change because to have an audience you need trust, and trust **DOES** need to be earned. We gotta see something to stay; a dedication to charities, public works, concrete efforts.
Show PostForgive me but I don’t think a man struggling with guilt after raping a woman is something that means he should given an ounce of sympathy, nor forgiveness
