@masaashimazoe.bsky.socialHow open is “open” chromatin? Our new Nature Genetics paper uses nucleosome-resolution modeling to reveal condensed euchromatin domains with short, accessible regulatory regions at the surface. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Show PostOur latest paper is out in @embojournal.org! Chromatin compaction is a hallmark of apoptosis, but the mechanism & function of this process was unclear. We show apoptotic compaction is required to prevent fragmented DNA from spreading beyond the dying cell, and is driven by histone deacetylation.
Show PostOur new paper is out @jcellsci.bsky.social 🧬✨ doi.org/10.1242/jcs.... @ynagata.bsky.social et al combined single-nucleosome imaging + Fucci probes. H2B-Halo motion stays nearly constant from G1 to G2. H3.3-Halo euchromatin nucleosomes are more mobile, but their motion also stays nearly constant.
Show PostNormalization: most important part of any analysis, also the part nobody talks about. This paper, in my view, is all about appropriate normalization. Then check against “all available data”, and get one clean conclusion. Really neat! Joe Paggi @binzmit.bsky.social www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Show PostVery nice new paper from Paggi, Long, Zhang using physical modeling of RCMC data to reconstruct physical structures of euchromatin at the nucleosome scale: Euchromatin forms condensed domains and E-P interactions largely occur on the surface! www.nature.com/articles/s41...
