@kazu-maeshima.bsky.socialHow open is “open” chromatin? Our new Nature Genetics paper uses nucleosome-resolution modeling to reveal condensed euchromatin domains with short, accessible regulatory regions at the surface. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
Show PostIn the most recent episode we speak with @robklose.bsky.social, Professor of Genetics at the University of Oxford, about how CpG islands help control gene expression and chromatin regulation during development. #podcast #epigenetics Listen here: activemotif.com/podcasts-rob...
Show PostThank you, too Kazuhiro. I shouldn’t speak too loud as a biologist, but as a physicist, I think: if we hit on a “real” physical mechanism at work in the cell, all data and simulations align. Dispersal by transcription looks suspiciously like such a process. Of course, still many open questions.
Show PostNew Slide.... this is a whole new course. I did tell them that beyond nucleosomes and loops, all the higher order structures in the textbook were imaginary
Show PostGlad i already taught the class about differences between euchromatin and heterochromatin--guess i need to revise next year :)
