Show PostThe excess spend splits about evenly between higher enrollment as a share of the population and higher spending per enrollee. I dig into some of the drivers of the latter, which include very high spending on enrollees with disabilities and staggering amounts of fraud by community support providers.
Show PostIn the third part of my series for Capital Commonsense on DC's federal grants I look at healthcare grants, which basically (95%) means Medicaid. DC has the most expensive Medicaid program (per resident) in the country. Compared to the expansion states we spend almost twice as much.
