I was invited to help out at Waingroves Community Woodland for their annual bat and moth event last night. Better bats than moths, but had a huge turnout of people with lots of kids present. Best of the bunch for me was a pristine Swallow Tail! #teammoth

Expected cloud cover did not materialise overnight resulting in 6:5, but saved by this NFY Merveille du Jour, stunning as always. Not a single LYU (!), Rusty Dot Pearl also notable. #teammoth @pmandrews1973.bsky.social

We've recorded this Tortricid Leafroller moth (I think) at our Perth Hills moth light several times, then we spotted this one on a recent walk. Makes the purpose of those patterns and colours clearer #teammoth #mothsmatter #ausinverts #wildoz #Lepidoptera #inaturalist #camouflage
