Officially moth-obsessed, also easily distracted by birds, butterflies, flies, wasps and spiders. Musically devoted to an (un)holy trinity of Bruce Springsteen, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen.

Ah that’s a shame. Despite spending half my life (seemingly 😅🙈) in North Yorkshire we haven’t yet found the time/opportunity to go on the steam railway 🤦‍♂️

Ah, you’re in Pickering! Very nice 😁 I think mature Beech trees in woodland is where you’re more likely to find it. I was only aware of it by reading Ben Smart’s ‘Micro-moth Field Tips’ book!

Pleased to find larval spinnings, larva and pupal cocoon of Stropedra weirana (Little Beech Tortrix) today! Very few records for VC39. No doubt under recorded, but if you don’t look you won’t find 😄 The overlapped Beech leaves which brown feeding signs are easy to spot. #Teammoth
