just to be real clear on this: nobody should have to fear violence against them because of their faith or their ethnicity and it is Bad when they do, not only because of the real threat of violence but because living in fear coarsens you, makes you worse for the world than you could be otherwise

Controversial, not so controversial, take - the dangers posed by AI are real, current, and well-documented. Those do not include human extinction within a decade, nor do they include AI-manufactured-printed-out-in-the-lab bioweapons, yet, those are the ones we chose to focus on. Good lord.
