Quick query update. I’ve been open for about a month and I’m averaging somewhere between 300-350 queries per week. I know it’s frustrating to wait for a reply but…there are a lot of queries! It takes time to get to everything. I love being open to work and I’m excited to keep diving in.
Show PostDue to regularly feeling like I'm annoying my non-writing friends by posting a bunch of writing stuff here, I've created a writing-only account (arumiwrites.bsky.social). Feel free to follow me over there if you're into unhinged writing memes & updates about my #SFF books! 👍
Show PostQuery tip: make sure you get someone who knows *nothing* about your book to read your query and explain the story back to you. You might find you’ve overemphasized some elements or confused them with others. An agent won’t know anything about your project, it needs to make sense to someone fresh!
Show PostARCANE x COLDWIRE murdering robot spiders, a cybernetic surgeon who wears pink butterfly hairclips, a magical battle thunderdome, skyrail skateboarding, TRON bikes. ALSO IT’S A LOVE STORY. #A #R #SF #UnhingedPit youtu.be/YV7hdhPXkuQ?...
Show PostThe unfortunate thing about having a brain that doesn't quit is that I keep coming up with new cool SFF book concepts and can't choose which one to tackle next. 👀
