the reason that germany is a democracy is a system of ex post facto punishment, often lethal, levied against the previous government, and the only reason that hungary is trending towards democracy is that fidesz is being persecuted out of existence and its politicians are banned from power

Always hesitant to ascribe nefariousness to things like this. There are all sorts of reasons why this might have happened (accounts suddenly getting a lot of attention after a period of quiet, could trip an automated wire, for example), but... really... this looks bad.
