I was wondering about how much time and productivity the 'are you a human, wait 5 seconds when we check' website gates are costing everybody. As this is repeated a few times per day all over the world for everyone.
Show PostAs a researcher, I can't really emphasise enough that the main thing LLMs have done is significantly slow me down and add cognitive burden. I'm just *tired* of every aspect of this trend at this point.
Show PostSearch results are 90+ percent slop: I'm constantly double-checking photos I find to look for signs that they're generated. I have to check games I want to play because I don’t want low-quality non-human art and writing in what will inevitably be the ludonarrative equivalent of eating cardboard.
Show PostThe main way the LLM boom has affected my life is to make a lot of things so much harder. It makes information filtering an even more constant grinding process than it already was: it's noticeably worsened search info quality and makes it harder to find anything reliable and/or human and/or real.
Show PostOne sees LLM-interested people elsewhere on here saying things like "how has AI been changing YOUR life?" And it's sort of an interesting question though for the opposite reasons they're asking it.
