Of course, linear algebra. Applying whitening to the band-passed signals can linearly demix the sources. At 30 kHz resolution we expect little to no physiological correlations, whitening forces them to be near zero. Look at those pesky coincidences disappearing, so satisfying.
Show PostNote that whitening does not care about actual spike coincidences, only about the correlations of the whole signals, so chance (or maybe physiological who knows) coincidences do and will survive it!
