The lesbian bar thing is just an object lesson of how you have to at some point say “you are a crazy person, fuck off and go away”, like you can’t let yourself be ruled by the whims of people like that. Tell them to go to another bar.

Newspaper paywalls should have a “buy just this story” option for like a dollar or whatever. It’s the equivalent of newsstand sales where people pick it up because of a headline. I don’t care enough about Boston to subscribe to the paper, but I’d buy one off the rack if I was visiting in the ‘90s.
