It's not economic anxiety, they said the same about trump voters - it's stupidity, racism, misogyny, and bigotry - poverty doesn't cause that - stupidity does. Farage and other populists understand this, and it's why and how they can cynically manipulate this ever-present segment of society.

Fine sentiment. They are lost. After a decade of indoctrination and daily top ups of their confirmation bias there is no point. They won’t & can’t change their position. The majority are uneducated and can’t hold two conflicting ideas in their head at once. They just shut down and shout memes.

i do think we should do something about people who zoom around on mobility scooters at high speed. Some of the oldies round here are proper speed demons on the pavements, it's a menace. Although I do laugh when they use the road like a car.
