I was pretty good at twitter. millions of impressions on my tweets every month, regularly hitting hundreds of thousands of likes on a single post and gaining hundreds of followers per day in support of mine and my friends human rights. It did shit all to convince people to stop hurting us.
Show Post"should we go back to twitter" Is only being asked by people who never really left it tbh. either they still maintain a presence there, constantly repost shit from there to here or just continued behaving in the ways which twitter requires to drive engagement. try leaving that shit behind first
Show PostThis isn’t even a “haha digital circus fandom bad” thing. In my opinion ALL fandoms are bad because the internet, by design, enables all sorts of zealotry and narcissism. “Fame” affords me a lot; more than most people can say. But also I need to maintain a healthy distance from it.
Show PostI love my job. But I don’t know if I can handle another project I’m cast in being as big as Digital Circus again. Sometimes I think I just want to retire out of the spotlight and social media early if I can; being a public figure invites too many vultures, especially when fandom becomes involved.
