The equality act was ALWAYS intended to support self identification of trans people. A GRC is irrelevant, the law recognised only self declared gender. It is beyond me how people dont understand this when its totally clear!!

This is a really simple and powerful way of explaining why the Supreme Court decision makes no sense. Everybody knows the Equality Act in 2010 didn't ban trans people from the toilets they had been using for years. It was neither the intent nor the effect of the law. Laughable to pretend otherwise.

Some sports (Olympic wrestling, and other close contact sports) I can see gendered leagues existing for reasons like... Men are gross about getting a chance to "cop a feel," but ultimately almost every reason for gendered leagues exists because men are insecure.
Show PostFor the most part, the biggest difference in performance between women's and men's sports comes down to funding. Men (usually) get more time to practice, better facilities, priority access, and more men are encouraged to engage with sports early. It's basically no biology.
