If “fighting for a better society” means vandalism and violent riots, then I’m afraid I’ll have to pass. Your demands, which are reasonable in and of themselves, have been hijacked by Putin bots and far-right groups to sow chaos in the run-up to the upcoming elections. Don’t let them provoke you.

I thrifted a US Army surplus jacket for cold weather running, and I have learned that I cannot wear it to the grocery store unless I am prepared to have a (well-meaning but) lengthy conversation with literally every elderly man I encounter.

i think i see what's happening... yes, Mc is typically short for Mac, but here in the States we don't pronounce the restaurant chain as MacDonalds, verbally we pronounce it as "mic" because we're pronouncing the "Mc" literally. if you take the vowel out entirely, that's how we tend to say it.
