i think i see what's happening... yes, Mc is typically short for Mac, but here in the States we don't pronounce the restaurant chain as MacDonalds, verbally we pronounce it as "mic" because we're pronouncing the "Mc" literally. if you take the vowel out entirely, that's how we tend to say it.

@robwords.com and @jesszafarris.com You two should to a scientific name episode. Those can be fun. Like I have learned that while "hyena" translates to "she-pig," the scientific name "Crocutus" is a bit more mysterious and goes back to sanskrit and was used be Pliny the Elder for an unknown beast.
