I get that my Mom was born in Indiana and raised in Illinois. My dad was native Texan as was his parents. When Mom and Dad went to meet his mom (dad had passed), my grandmother immediately hated my Mom because she was “a damn yankee.” They grew to tolerate each other, but mainly we just stayed away.

Probably rightfully so 🤣🤣 My ex, his parents, and all of his siblings were born in Pittsburgh PA, but his Dad got a job with John Deere so they all moved to Louisville. His parents never lost the Pittsburgh accent, though.

My ex in-laws are in both Louisville and Cincinnati. They cross back and forth like they are jumping over a creek. The one in Cincinnati actually works (or worked…probably retired now) at Fort Knox. Ex was a UK grad, is brothers and 1 sister were Louisville grads.
