That line is him talking about his CURRENT situation however. (With the tadpole, compulsion broken). NOT UNDER CAZADOR. The drained boar you can find in Act 1 is evidence of exactly that, him hunting larger prey now that Cazador’s direct control is gone.

I called it dumb bc gods it is such a basic ass fact from the game you don't get to twist for the book's sake, when there is it all spelled out for you, honestly. When he first tries to bite you (or when you confront him), he claims: “I feed on animals— boars, deer, kobolds, whatever I can get.”

But if you read his thoughts/push the dialogue, the game gives you the memory by the narrator: "You open your mouth and bite down… not into a tender neck, but into the twisting body of a rat — the only thing your master lets you eat."

i am really annoyed by this whataboutism yall have going on here and the twisting of basic ass game facts into pretzels, you need to get proved the validity of.. and that you can find it in one singular youtube video. If you played the game you know this or you should have, but here you go. 🙄
