I hear you, but lots of people need to be convinced that normal diplomacy isnt going to lead to peace no matter how hard or how competently it’s conducted. And that requires showing them what the evidence suggests each actor’s goal is.

What I don't get is why the GOP either cannot or refuses to see that Trump is backing Russia here. The diesel deal isn't about helping with fuel for the US - it's too little oil - it's just there as a pretext to send Russia money. Trump wants Russia to win. Why is he still in office?

Can we just skip all nonsensensical theories about who means what? Donald Trump is a greedy, evil fascist. Putin is the same. Both of them are to be kept far, far away from people and positions. Never interact, never discuss, talk or reason with them: it’s a fight for life or death. Fight them!
