I'll stand by the first season being a really solid, emotionally raw show. I thought it worked because the light tone of the show was a great counterpoint to Ted's genuine sadness. I'm fine with the other seasons but if it had ended with one I think it'd be remembered with the greats.

Show PostTMI but my own marriage was going through some really rough waters at the time and I wasn't prepared for the show to take such a raw turn. The worst thing the later seasons did is smooth out that relationship.
