@maxnutrition.bsky.socialI think people need to acknowledge that sexual assault is not always a clean line. It says that they only saw AFTER the fact that it was assault, so it's unfair to immediately sacrifice someone for it. We just need to realize that since we aren't close to either party, we can't assume the situation.
Show PostRapists don't discuss it with the victim the next day and co-negotiate the label, and take accountability. He got soyed into the censure, and now the censure is the proof. Lindsey Clancy is a hero, though.
Show PostThis statement is as decent a reaction as can be expected in this situation. As a victim of something similar myself, I don’t think I want to live in a society where punishments are eternal. I don’t want to prevent someone from ever doing good again in the name of punishing their sins.
Show PostI normally stray away from this sort of drama, but as a survivor myself I feel it pertinent to speak my piece. I fully believe in the sincerity of your statement, and I believe that redemption and betterment is possible for less heinous assault, which I presume this was given the context. 1/6
Show PostYou mention how you and the victim spoke the day after the assault, that you agreed with them that you assaulted them, and then cooperated with the following investigation. So to me this reads as something less heinous than violent, intentional assault. The explicit punishment was far too light. 2/6
