😆 For those struggling to get the joke: use 1/(1−z) = 1 + z + z² + z³ + z⁴ + z⁵ + ⋯ and then expand out (1+z)(1+z²)(1+z⁴)(1+z⁸)(1+z¹⁶)⋯ and use the fact that each natural number has a unique expansion in binary digits, e.g. 7 = 4 + 2 + 1 so z⁷ = z⁴ z² z
Show PostYes! Sometimes called the "computer scientist's identity" — every natural number has a unique binary expansion.
