This floodplain forest fills with huge old growth trees: bald cypress, loblolly pines, cedars, and tupelos. Due to flooding which occurs about 10 times per year, the main trail is on a raised boardwalk. Congaree National Park #nationalparks #hiking #trails #SouthCarolina #floods #trees #forest
