People don't have much room to be fallible, irregular, changeable or uncertain under the harsh glare of the internet's scrutiny. I have no opinion on Platner's actual personal truthfulness, whether he is 'real' or not. But a lot of the stuff opined against him looks whipped up. We'll see, I guess.

They were not, literally, into evil. One of the problems of this internet age, is anything can be taken with little context (or have context removed) then piled on, frothed up and exaggerated beyond recognition. It's great for vague 'opinion' forming.

Him being a genuine Nazi sympathizer seems ridiculous. I'm not here to glaze him, but I'm from a small Ontario town, and every heavy metal band around in the late 70's & '80's used totemkopf-y symbols. Guys bombing around in their cars showed them. Like pentagrams, it meant, dumbly, "badass".
