I'm trying to wrap my head around what possible justification someone could come up with for that take. Maybe the "Astarion is actually sex repulsed ace and is basically a virgin outside of Cazador's abuse" headcanon I've seen some people insist on.

I have to develop this, but: I believe a flamboyantly femme queer man (vampire elf or no) who *tops* completely broke a lot of player's subconscious minds and relationship/heirarchy maps. That's only one reason why Astarion fan bullshit is *gestures* , but I think it's significant?

No one's arguing you have to like the book, do what you want, but no matter what an author writes, you are responsible for yourself and how you post about it and your mental health. This is actually a really important line as a reader/viewer.

Just want to give @tkingfisher.com some support for some stuff going on in a thread of theirs. I get that people have head canons & get very attached to characters but trauma dumping on an author for not writing your head canon is not healthy. I've been there when I wrote Angel. It is rough.
