Show PostGrowing up in Edinburgh my memory is of Low Q on the 15th of January 1968. I thought the windows would blow in and we all had a sleepless night. A 60ft tree blocked our road and chimney stacks fell through killing people in their beds. A gust at Turnhouse was 103mph.

Autumnal indeed. To show how chilly today was in a weather forecast, it seems odd to choose the warmest places (and show 15C) - for example on the BBC One forecasts this evening. Why not show 10C and mention Luton Airport or Wittering which were that chilly this afternoon? Strange!
