Perry was an incredibly inspirational professor and hugely formative in my early years of economics. What a loss. Perry Mehrling passes away and Lou Crandall retires. Money markets will never be the same.

What a terrible loss. There is not a single thinker more influential for my entire cohort of political economists of money and finance. For so many of us, *the* rite of passage was Perry's online course on money and banking. And then his books. Devastating.

Really sad to hear of Perry Mehrling's death. His money hierarchy theory was very captivating and his book on Kindleberger a wonderful read. I always show this video to my students when teaching about Bretton Woods and its collapse & will continue to do so. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ape4...

Still struggling to process the awful news of Perry Mehrling's death. I read almost everything he wrote and saw him often, most recently just a few months ago, when he was excited about a new project with the BIS to teach economics to central bankers from the global South. Can't believe he is gone.
