I heard that Bob Jacques got burned pretty badly from the experience (and was uncredited for his work). So, he decided to use their recently dead dog, which ended up as roadkill, as a joke in a Mighty Mouse episode.

Yeah! That dog was 1-to-1 the villain's dog in the movie. A really mean little dog. They wanted to dedicate the film to the dog moreso than folks who actually passed during the production.
Show PostGreat story: Ross came into the studio n said out loud "You know what, I think I'll do something nice...", and everyone thought he was gonna do something for the crew, but then he said "I'm gonna go buy a Ferrari". So he did, was driving back to the studio & apparently got carjacked on the freeway.
