(Sadly) not my photo, but it really is a great illustrative example. They really made me smile when we came across one! Japan had so many examples of ‘surprise and delight’ improvements to daily life that brought a smile to our faces!

Show PostThat really confused me on a recent trip! Osaka’s choice felt instantly familiar, as I travel on the London Underground often, where we stand to the right on escalators. Do other Japanese cities follow their own local standard as well?
