Labour just don't get it. They don't get how scared people are with extreme weather becoming our new normal. We need voices in parliament that will force them to take wildfires seriously, not quietly shirk responsibility.

I feel like the times my students spend on developing basic mathematical concepts — estimation, algebraic manipulation, dimensional analysis — lead to the some of the most valuable skills they develop in foundational chemistry courses

"For example, as he tells his students, performing mental arithmetic might distract them while they are trying to learn how to do a more complex math problem." I don't know. It's my experience that students who struggle to do mental arithmetic almost always struggle with more complex math problems
